Handmade Polish Stoneware, each one is a one-of-a-kind. This type of pottery originated as a Folk Art in the early 1800’s. Today in a small village in Boleslawiec, Poland skilled artisans individually hand-craft and hand-paint inch piece using a sponge stamping technique.
All stoneware is formed from a white clay exclusive to the Silesian region of Poland with a unique lead free glazing which is applied and then fired at temperatures in excess of 2000 degrees. This process creates non-toxic stoneware pieces that are safe for use in the oven, microwave and dishwasher. This extremely durable stoneware will not crack or chip easily and cleans up beautifully.
